Full-time position / Light Equipment Operator
The Monroe County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for a Light Equipment Operator. The Light Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation of various light equipment such as a tandem dump trucks, rubber tire backhoe, trenchers, and tractors with various attachments in order to maintain roads and drainage systems. Although the incumbent may be able to operate heavy equipment, their ability will be at only a rudimentary level. Major duties include maintaining road right of ways including cutting brush/grass, removing or trimming trees, and removing other obstacles. Operates hand held power tools and manually operated hand tools in constructing and maintaining roads, bridges and drainage systems. Erects and maintains fences along county roadways when necessary. Repairs and maintains driveways located in the county and any other duties assigned including manual labor when required. Applicant must have sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position. Applicant must possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License for the class of vehicle or equipment operated. Starting salary is $11.63. Deadline for applications is August 11, 2017.
